Ginkgo Biloba have distinctive fan-shaped leaves and is one of the world’s oldest species of trees, believed to have been in existence for 1.5 billion years and be regarded as a ‘living fossil’. Some individual old ancient ginkgo trees have lived for up to 2000 years. Ginkgo has been used in Chinese medicine for over a thousand years to promote the health of the brain and respiratory tract. Recent research have found that Ginkgo can enhance blood flow to the brain by promoting vascular dilation and improving blood flow in both the arteries and capillaries. For the elderly, Ginkgo may improve brain memory and reduce age-related memory decline. It also has healthy benefit for abnormal blood lipids and vascular aging.
